►►► Death on Film ► The Death King Der Todesking Jörg Buttgereit, 1990, DE, DCP, OV ST ANG, 80' A rotting male corpse supplies the framing device for seven different dramatic vignettes, one for each day of the week, as Buttgereit's semi-experimental arthouse horror explores the theme of violent death in all its permutations. Suicide and murder, a "Nazisploitation" VHS cassette, an ominous chain letter, gruelling self-harm, and a massacre at a rock concert unfold in variously shocking, exploitative, grimly comic, poignant or surreal ways that evoke the fleetingness and fragility of life as well as the ominipresence of the Grim Reaper (La Faucheuse). Hermann Kopp's fantastic electro-industrial score provides the finishing touch.Voorafgegaan door de wereldpremière van een korte animatiefilm die een vervolg breit aan “Schramm”: Tomorrow I Will Be Dirt (Robert Morgan, UK, 2019, 8’)
