How I Learned to Overcome My Fear and Love Ariel Sharon

Comment j’ai appris à surmonter ma peur et à aimer Ariel Sharon

In 1982, for moral and political reasons, Avi Mograbi refused to serve in the Israeli army in the war against Lebanon. The then Defence minister, Arik (Ariel) Sharon later became the strong man of Likoud. As the 1996 elections drew closer, Mograbi decided to paint a portrait of this man who inspired both fascination and revulsion.

In this contravention film both dramatic and grotesque (of which the title is borrowed from Stanley Kubrick’s "Dr Strangelove"), private and political stories overlap, while the human form of the politician who has committed horrific crimes beyond belief slowly takes shape.
