Avi Mograbi is asked to make a film about the fiftieth anniversary celebrations of Israel. Simultaneously, a Palestinian producer calls upon him to make a film commemorating another anniversary, that of the Nakba ("the day of the catastrophe", the name designates the Palestinian exodus of 1948). Not backing down from anything, the cinematographer accepts both offers and tries to consolidate them in one single film ! He uses the occasion of his birthday to weave into the documentary a narrative and a big story into a smaller one, his very own, the story of the problems he faces regarding the piece of land he had bought many years ago...
