Pour ceux qui côtoient le Nova depuis longtemps déjà, on ne devrait plus présenter Jack Stevenson, ce collectionneur américain invétéré de celluloïdes décalées et improbables, mâtiné d’une connaissance érudite et respectée du cinéma jusque dans ses marges, et à de nombreuses reprises notre invité. Depuis 2009, Jack Stevenson a cependant freiné ses tournées des salles obscures pour s’investir plus avant dans ses écrits et investigations cinématographiques, mais aussi dans la distribution de cinéastes contemporains qu’il continue à soutenir avec enthousiasme, ou encore dans la gestion de sa propre salle de cinéma, le Station 16 à Copenhague, sa ville d’adoption. Membre éminent de Kino Climates dont il participera aux discussions 3 jours durant, Jack Stevenson nous fera le plaisir ce soir de présenter une compilation de courts films 16mm de réalisateurs indépendants d’Outre-Atlantique, regroupés autour du titre générique "West Coast Confidential : a lacious slab of Underground cinema from America’s Capital of non-conformity - San Francisco". Une séance découverte comme seul Jack sait les concocter et les commenter. "A feast of the unexpected guaranteed to startle, entertain and challenge."
